Inspiring Life In The Making

Meet Brenn, from Nivel Hills, Cebu City, just turned 20 on January 13 this year.

His is an inspiring life in the making. At the moment he is at the crossroads of divergent paths: one that may lead to a positive direction, or one that may lead to perdition. His wild days as a troubled youth are plainly not yet very far behind him.

There was the time when, while still 12 years old and in grade school, he was with his bosom buddies when they were caught shoplifting yo-yo's in a department store, and were under the custody of the Social Welfare authorities for several hours. His main thoughts then were of his parents and younger sister and the shame he may have brought them.

When already in third year high school, he abetted his girl friend when she took abortificent pills. Again, his thoughts turned to the possible effect on his family's understanding and his future.

After his second year in college taking up Computer Science course, he decided to stop studying. He became a member of a band named Days of Agony, playing the lead guitar, or the percussions as may be called for.

They have even recorded an album, eerily titled Retribution, most pieces of which were his own composition and arrangement; the repertoire included songs of various genre, from reggae to metallic rock to headbanging screams, where he lets out all his angst.

Nowadays his music has become more mellow, a sure sign of his burgeoning maturity in life concepts. For sometime he was connected with a company named Virtual Commodities, where he assists clients level-up their categories in online gaming. Afterwards he had a short stint as a freelance wedding photographer's assistant, where his passion for photojournalism was kindled.

He is now Graphics and Media Head for the company New Era Outsourcing, in partnership with his spiritual and business advisor Armil Velos, another one of Cebu's Inspiring Lives.

As was mentioned at the beginning, Brenn's life is a would-be inspiring life in the making. It would indeed be very interesting to watch and follow up.
