Inspiring Lives: Making A Worthwhile Life

Making a living is one thing. Making a worthwhile life is another.

Over the years as I’ve sought out ideas, principles and strategies to life’s challenges, I’ve come across four simple words that can make a living worthwhile.

First, life is worthwhile if you LEARN.

Life is worthwhile if you learn from your own experiences, both positive and negative. Like for example, all of us have things that we want to happen in our lives. It might be about your family, your work or your love life. In my case if I may share I also have many hopes for my life and for my family. But as what we have experienced, not all of these will happen.

These sometimes frustrate us or make us want to quit. This is a reality that we are facing in our lifetime. But this should not make us to stop. What we should do is we examine what happened and learn form these failures. We learn to do it right by first sometimes doing it wrong. We call that a positive negative. We should remember that we can not reach all the stars that we want, but these stars are always there to guide us.

Aside from this, we also learn from other people’s experiences, either positive or negative. It’s just too bad failures don’t give us seminars. Obviously, we don’t want to pay them so they aren’t usually touring around giving seminars. But that information would be very valuable – we would learn how someone who had it all then missed it up. For instance in business, we have seen many booming business and then suddenly it went down.

Now you’re also planning to have the same business. What will you do to avoid the same fate? The answer is not to do the same mistakes that other businessmen have done that were the cause of their downfall. You see, learning from other people’s experiences and mistakes is valuable information because we can learn what not to do without the pain of having tried and failed ourselves.

Second, Life worthwhile if you TRY. You can’t just learn; you have to try what you have earned. You have to try something to see if you can do it. Try to experience on new things. Try to make a difference on whatever things that you do. Try some progress with your work, try to learn new skills, and try to learn new sports. It doesn’t mean you can do everything, but there are a lot of things that you can do if you just try and go all out for it.

Third, life is worthwhile if you STAY. You have to stay from spring until harvest. Sometimes calamity comes and then it is worth wrapping it up. And that’s it, that’s the end, but just don’t end in the middle. For example if you’re aiming to become distinguish Toastmaster. The road ahead is rough and you will experience many trials. But does it mean you will stop? Of course the answer is NO. You will not stop. You will stay on target and surely you’ll succeed.

And lastly, life is worthwhile if you CARE. If you care at all you will get some results, if you care more than enough, you can get incredible results. Care enough to make a difference, care enough to touch someone’s life and you’ll be also touch by other people’s life, care enough to change for the betterment, care enough to win, and care enough to make your life worthwhile.

Four powerful little words: learn, try, stay and care. Now, I’ll ask this question to all of you. What difference can you make in your life today by putting these words to action?

My friends your answer determines how worthwhile your life will be.
