Uncomparable Sacrifice And Survival Of A Loving Mother

There are things nobody else could do except a mother. Only she can feel the deepest emotions of her offspring and only her who can fully understand their sentiments.

Perlita Peñaredondo Necosia is a full-time mom. She considers it to be the highest ranking job in the world, compensated by pure love. She cherish every day of being a faithful wife to her husband and a supportive and caring mother to her kids.

She is the first to sacrifice what she has for them and the last to get anything for her own. If she sees there not enough for everyone she would gladly give up her share, especially for the sake of her children. Her most dreadful moment is when one of them died in a horrible accident.

She lost a son, Jhay-R, on 3 November 2003. He fell from a truck and died on the spot. She was completely devastated that she cried continuously.  She could not bear seeing her son lying in a coffin.

Even just slowly approaching the casket drained away all her strength, as if a very heavy object was placed on her shoulders. She cried and screamed like a little baby and no one could make her stop. In her very intense period of sorrow, she slumped on the floor, unresponsive to all efforts to calm her.

People may understand that it is very painful but not fully comprehend how painful indeed. They do not know that part of a mother dies with each child she has brought to life. It is at the moment a child is born, that the mother is also born. She never existed before giving birth, delivering the greatest treasure one could give in this world.

Friends and acquaintances think she will be fine after the burial, that she will be able to accept what had happened. Maybe she can but until when because seven years has not been enough. She may look strong and happy yet the pain remains in her heart.

She got ill for a year after the accident but she survived because she willed to. She told herself she still had two sons and two daughters to live for, and her husband too. Mother regained her determination, and had a small retail store built to sustain the family needs for the days when father has no job. They worked together to raise up their family. They never lost hope. They never surrendered.

She reared us on the right way: obedient, mindful of authority, and proudly God-fearing. We, in return, gave her back more love than she can imagine.

We are so fortunate to have her as our mom, and I am so lucky to be her daughter. No gaps or barriers exist between us. If I were to put her alongside the rest of the world, it would definitely pale by comparison. That is how I see her because I love her very much.
